Terry Caszatt is a screenwriter and novelist known for the adventure
film The Lost Treasure of Sawtooth Island (2000), which starred Academy Award winner Ernest Borgnine. He is the author of the young adult novel
Brass Monkeys
, which was published by Charlesbridge in 2011.

Caszatt earned his B.A. from Western Michigan University, and his M.A.
from the University of Iowa, where he was admitted to the acclaimed Writers Workshop. There he met and became life-long friends with the well-known short story writer, Ray Carver.

Caszatt taught creative writing, along with video and film, at the renowned Interlochen Center for the Arts. He has published short fiction and poetry, written sports stories for newspapers, ad copy and speeches for political campaigns.

Caszatt and his wife, Marlene, live on Les Nuages, their tree farm in
northern Michigan. Caszatt is currently working on a series of linked short stories about his days as a tree farmer.
